My belief in the power of arts began with the UTSAH project where I saw how arts could transform children’s lives. It was clear that the arts can educate and entertain and that creative expression is vital.
Since then along with my studio arts practice I have worked on a number of projects that educate, entertain and invite community participation.
Through Stir Arts, I collaborate with artists, arts organizations and the viewers/audiences to engage with social issues. A current project designed to engage audiences with social issues through the media and arts includes screening good films in schools and community organizations. The films serve as a prompt for discussions about current issues, empathy, compassion, faith traditions and beliefs.
